
Metro Manila, Philippines – Wind Signal No. 3 has been raised over the northeastern portion of Babuyan Islands due to Severe Tropical Storm Julian, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on its 11 a.m. bulletin on Sunday, Sept. 29.
This, as Julian further intensified packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 135 kph.
Signal No. 2 is hoisted over Batanes, northeastern portion of Mainland Cagayan and the rest of Babuyan Islands.
Meanwhile, the following areas are under Signal No. 1:

+ Isabela
+ Apayao
+ Abra
+ Kalinga
+ Mountain Province
+ Ifugao
+ Ilocos Norte
+ Ilocos Sur
+ northern portion of Benguet
+ northern portion of Aurora
Julian was last spotted 290 kilometers east northeast of Aparri, Cagayan or 300 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan, moving west northwestward.
PAGASA issued a gale warning over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon.
Julian may further intensify into a typhoon.
Based on PAGASA’s forecast, Julian may make landfall over Batanes and/or Babuyan Islands on Monday, Sept. 30.
