Metro Manila, Philippines – Three Malaysians who claimed to be members of wanted Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s religious group have been blacklisted, the Bureau of Immigration said on Sunday, Sept. 1.
The three Malaysians were Jessica Lynn Henry, Mimielianna Annie Anak Leesoi, and Andrijosebaul Anak Garra.
They arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 from Kuala Lumpur on Aug. 27. They were with a group of Filipinos who presented themselves as members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC).
After their claim, the Malaysians were subjected to further immigration inspection. Immigration officers did not approve their entry. They boarded a flight back to Malaysia the day after.
“Our immigration officers discovered their intent to participate in anti-government demonstrations being staged by KOJC members who are protesting the ongoing manhunt for Pastor Quiboloy,” Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said in a statement.
“Foreigners have no business interfering in the country’s internal political affairs, thus aliens who join these protest actions can be expelled for violating our immigration laws and for being undesirable aliens,” he added.
The three said the KOJC invited them to Davao City. They, however, admitted they were unemployed and failed to show proof of financial capacity.
Immigration supervisors also saw a screenshot of anti-government slogans on one of the Malaysians’ phone. The person argued that she accidentally downloaded those.
Authorities have been locating Quiboloy for over a week now. They have clashed with KOJC members in Davao City as they try to serve arrest warrants against the pastor who faces child and sexual abuse charges.
