Metro Manila, Philippines – Korean series ‘Squid Game’ will return to streaming platform Netflix for its second season on Dec. 26.
Netflix Philippines dropped on Thursday, Aug. 1 the date announcement teaser, in which it also revealed that Season 3 or the final season will be released in 2025.
“On the first day we began shooting Season 2, I remember thinking, ‘Wow, I can’t believe I’m back in the world of Squid Game.’ It almost felt surreal,” said Squid Game director, writer, and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk in a letter shared by Netflix.
“I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new ‘Squid Game’ grow and bear fruit through the end of this story. We’ll do our best to make sure we bring you yet another thrill ride. I hope you’re excited for what’s to come,” Hwang went on.
The series premiered in 2021.
“Squid Game” is about hundreds of adult players who accept a strange invitation to join in children’s games for millions in cash prize, but competition risks death.
