Davao City, Philippines – Vice President Sara Duterte said on Monday, May 12, that her father’s political party may have “more than two” winners in the senatorial race, a forecast that she said she relayed to the detained former president in the Netherlands.

In a chance interview after voting in Davao City, she said she gave “realistic numbers” to her father when they had a chance to talk about the campaign.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte has been detained at an International Criminal Court facility over charges of crimes against humanity for murder in relation to his bloody drug war.

“Binigyan ko siya ng realistic na number and then sabi niya if iyan yung realistic, iiwan na lang natin sa Diyos iyong miracle,” the vice president said.

Duterte didn’t name names, adding that her bases were the pre-election national and local surveys.

The surveys showed Bong Go and Bato dela Rosa securing stable positions in the winning circle. Sagip party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta is lagging in the top 12, according to Octa Research.

Meanwhile, Duterte said she doesn’t know yet if her father knows about PDP’s move to formally adopt presidential sister and re-electionist Sen. Imee Marcos and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar to its slate. The two completed the party’s 12-member lineup two days before the midterm polls.

When asked for her birthday wish on May 31, the vice president expressed two things.

“Ang unang wish ko ay para sa bayan sana manalo ang sampung senators ng PDP at dalawang guest candidates na si Sen. Imee Marcos and Sen. Camille Villar. Dose iyon. Ang pangalawang wish ko sana ay ma-release na si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa detention center sa ICC,” she said.
