
Metro Manila, Philippines – Sixteen areas across the country may experience heat index reaching “danger level” on Wednesday, April 9, state weather forecasters said.
Dagupan City in Pangasinan is seen to hit a heat index of 44 degrees Celsius, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Dagupan has registered the highest “feels-like temperature” so far at 48 degrees Celsius.
PAGASA also said Sangley Point in Cavite City, Virac (Synop) in Catanduanes and Butuan City in Agusan del Norte are forecasted to have a heat index of 43 degrees Celsius.
The following may have a heat index of 42 degrees Celsius on Wednesday:

+ Cubi Pt., Subic Bay, Olongapo City
+ San Ildefonso, Bulacan
+ Tau Camiling, Tarlac
+ Cuyo, Palawan
+ Roxas City, Capiz
+ Iloilo City
+ Panglao International Airport, Bohol
+ Catarman, Northern Samar
+ Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte
+ CMU Agromet, Musuan, Bukidnon
PAGASA classifies a heat index, or init factor, of 42 degrees Celsius to 51 degrees Celsius as “danger” category.
The bureau said under such a level, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely, and heat stroke is probable with continued exposure.
