Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 3) — A Christmas gift came early for Filipino fans as American singer Mariah Carey noticed a significant increase in streams of her song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on Spotify.
According to a fan-based account, Carey’s Christmas song garnered 316,000 streams on Saturday, which is a 75% increase compared to the same day in 2022.
Carey attributed the spike in streams to her Filipino fans, who started to blast Christmas songs as early as September in anticipation of the Christmas celebration in the country.

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” was released in 1994. The following year in January, the song ranked No. 6 on the Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary and at No. 12 on the Hot 100 Airplay charts.
It also topped the Billboard Hot 100 Re-currents chart every December from 2005 to 2008.
Carey held her first concert in Manila in 2003. She last performed in the country in 2018.
