Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 17) — Authorities on Monday reported one fatality after Tropical Storm Dodong dumped rains over the country.

According to the latest report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the agency is still validating information about the person who died.

Meanwhile, there were no reported injuries or missing individuals.

At least 9,223 families, or over 26,000 people, in Ilocos, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Western Visayas were affected by Dodong.

As of Monday, 217 families or 849 residents in regions Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Western Visayas remain in 23 evacuation centers.

In terms of infrastructure, 5 roads located in Ilocos and the Cordillera Administrative Region, and a bridge in Region 1 are still not passable.

There were also 14 houses damaged by Dodong, mostly located in Western Visayas.

Meanwhile, power in 5 areas in Ilocos has not yet been restored, and water supply in one area in the same region has yet to resume.

The storm started bringing rains over Luzon last week, which prompted the raising of Tropical Cyclone Wind signals.

The weather system exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility Saturday afternoon.
