Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 10) — D&L Industries, a listed plastic and food input producer, said its ₱10-billion Batangas plant has begun commercial operations, allowing the company to enter more foreign markets.
“After facing several challenges in the form of a pandemic, strict lockdowns during the construction, and global supply chain bottlenecks, our next generation facility in Batangas has finally started commercial operations,” D&L President and CEO Alvin Lao said in a disclosure Monday.
Lao said the facility sits on a 26-hectare property at the First Industrial Township-Special Economic Zone in Batangas.
It is expected to fully operate “in the next couple of months,” he added.
The executive said the Batangas plant puts D&L “in a good position as global demand returns.”
The facility increases the group’s manufacturing capabilities for food, oleochemicals, and consumer products ODM (original design manufacturer) segments.
D&L reiterated its target of launching a full range of shelf-ready products, made from coconut oil, for its export customers.
