Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 26) — The National University (NU) gives back the coaching reins for its women’s volleyball team to Norman Miguel, replacing Karl Dimaculangan for UAAP Season 86.
The NU made the announcement on Monday through a Facebook post, saying Miguel will also coach the girls’ volleyball team.
Miguel mentored the Lady Bulldogs in Season 81, producing a 4-10 record, then in Season 82, which was immediately halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He resigned in November 2020. Dimaculangan took over and led the team to a championship title and a sweep in Season 84, breaking its 65-year title drought.
In Season 85, Dimaculangan coached the Lady Bulldogs who entered the finals but settled for silver behind the DLSU Lady Archers.
