PVL Invitational 2023 treats fans with quadruple-headers

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 14) — Volleyball fans are in for a treat as the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference 2023 will have a packed schedule for the elimination round, which includes four days of quadruple-headers.

The conference will kick off on June 27 with triple matches beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

The opening day will also mark the debut of the league’s new teams – Gerflor Defenders, Foton Tornadoes, and the Farm Fresh Foxies.

On July 11, 13, 15, and 18, matches will begin at 9:30 am as there will be four matches scheduled each day. The quadruple headers will see action at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The elimination round will be a battle between the teams in Pool A and Pool B.

Pool A is composed of the defending champions Creamline Cool Smashers, Chery Tiggo Crossovers, PLDT High Speed Hitters, Akari Power Chargers, and Gerflor Defenders.

Meanwhile, Pool B consists of Petro Gazz Angels, F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, Choco Mucho Flying Titans, Cignal HD Spikers, Farm Fresh Foxies, and Foton Tornadoes.

The top two teams in each pool will advance to the round-robin semifinals along with the two foreign guest teams.

The semifinals round will happen on July 20-28 also at the PhilSports Arena.

The top two teams at the end of the semifinals will battle head-to-head for the championship on July 30.

PVL has yet to name the foreign guest teams for this year. During last year’s conference, Taiwan’s Taipei King Whales was the only guest team that competed in the tournament and eventually finished as runners-up.
