
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 8) – Team Philippines swimmers Xiandi Chua and Chloe Isleta took first and second place in the same event at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Monday.
Chua and Isleta bagged gold and silver, respectively, in the Women’s 200-meter backstroke event.
Gold-medalist Chua swam with a time of 2:13.20, with Isleta following close behind with a time of 2:16.19.
They bested swimmers from Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and Laos.
Chua’s victory marked the Philippines’ 18th gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games.
