Isa po itong kalunos lunos na trahedya at kami po ay nakikiramay sa pamilya ng ating kababayan, at makakaasa po sila ng mga pagtulong ng ating gobyerno mula trahedyang ito,” Consul General Raly Tejada said in a video released on Tuesday.

The consulate also reminded OFWs in Hong Kong to do away with cleaning windows on upper floors to prevent similar accidents.

According to a public advisory released by the consulate, helpers can clean windows on upper floors that are adjacent to a balcony or common corridor.

It also said exterior window cleaning can only be done under the following conditions:

i) the window being cleaned is fitted with a grille which is locked or secured in a manner that prevents the grille from being opened; and

ii) no part of the Helper’s body extends beyond the window ledge except the arms.
