
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 24) — Agricultural damage was estimated at ₱105.2 million in Davao Region following the localized thunderstorms that hit the area this week, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Friday.
Over 61,000 persons were also affected, with 1,700 staying in the evacuation centers.
Waters in 23 of the 25 flooded areas have already subsided, the NDRRMC said.
Last Feb. 22, The Davao City DRRMO initially reported that Bunawan River in Agusan del Sur reached its critical level, while the rivers Lasang, Davao and Talomo reached alert levels.
According to the state weather bureau on Friday, Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds from east to northwest will also prevail over the eastern section of Mindanao.
