Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 9) — A local police chief caught on video while drunkenly brandishing his gun around the town plaza of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental has been relieved from his post.
The provincial police office sacked Tagoloan Police Chief Enqirue Francisco Dungog after the video of the incident went viral on social media.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
“MORPPO (Misamis Oriental Regional Police Provincial Office) strongly condemns the wrongdoing of our men. We guarantee that there will be no whitewash in the investigation,” Provincial Director PCol Cholijun Caduyac said in a statement.
“Any infractions and misconduct perpetrated by our policemen will be dealt with accordingly and will never be tolerated,” he added.
