Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 6) — Bamboo Mañalac, Mark Escueta, Nathan Azarcon, and Rico Blanco are set to jam once again in Rivermaya’s reunion concert in February next year.
Live Nation Philippines on Monday announced the “Rivermaya: The Reunion” concert slated for Feb. 17 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City.
“Be a part of history as Live Nation Philippines stages its first-ever OPM show with Bamboo, Mark, Nathan and Rico — finally together in the country’s most coveted reunion,” the concert promoter wrote on its social media posts.
Ticket selling will start on Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. through www.smtickets.com and SM Ticket outlets.
Live Nation Philippines released a five-second teaser on Oct. 31 which showed blurry pictures of four men and ended with “SOON 02.17.2024.”
Fans of the OPM band have been speculating that the concert organizer was hinting at Rivermaya’s reunion concert.
Mañalac, popularly known as Bamboo, Escueta, Azarcon, and Blanco were the original members of Rivermaya, one of the biggest rock bands in the country.
It released its first album in 1994, the self-titled “Rivermaya.” Perf de Castro was among the first members of the band but left in 1995. Bamboo followed in 1998, with Blanco quitting the group in 2007.
The alternative rock band saw various line-up changes through the years, with Escueta and Azarcon the only original members remaining.
Some of Rivermaya’s well-known hits were “214,” “Kisapmata,” and “Liwanag sa Dilim.”
