Comelec: Last winning BSKE bets resolved by coin toss proclaimed

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 3)— The nationwide proclamation and elections for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) were officially completed on Friday as the Western Visayas finished its settlement for tied candidates using coin toss, Commision on Election (Comelec) Chairman George Garcia announced.

“Happy to inform the Chair that we are 100% done with the elections. Had just resolved the last tie,” Garcia said.

In a press briefing on Friday, Garcia earlier said that it was just waiting for Region 6 or the Western Visayas to finish its settlement for tied candidates using the coin toss method.

It also clarified that its earlier announcement of 100% completion for BSKE was referring to the voting, counting, and canvassing.

“All the three weeks transition, ‘yung lahat po ng nahalal at nakapanumpa ay incumbent na sa kasalukuyan without prejudice po sa binigay na transition,” it said.

Meanwhile, Garcia said that it is coordinating with other agencies in conducting investigations on the delay of some BSKE operations.

“We will be instructing the deputy executive director administration…Na ipakalap ‘yung lahat ng mga reports sa buong bansa lalo na ‘yung pakikialam ng ilang politiko sa atin pong counting, canvassing, at even po sa proclamation na nag-cause ng withdraw,” he said.
