
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 28) — The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) said it is on “full alert” to provide uninterrupted electricity service during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections on Monday.
In a statement on Saturday, Meralco said its team was directed to be “on standby” to immediately address any possible power outage during the polls.
The power distributor also said more than 300 generator sets and nearly 800 flood lights can be deployed for sudden interruptions.
“We are one with the government in working towards a peaceful and orderly elections for the Filipino people. Rest assured that Meralco will do its part by delivering stable and reliable electricity service,” said Meralco Spokesperson and Vice President for Corporate Communications Joe Zaldarriaga.
