Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 15) – The website of the House of Representatives is now inaccessible after it was hacked by anonymous user “3musketeerz” on Sunday morning.
The homepage of its website earlier showed a troll face meme.
“Happy April Fullz Kahit October palang! Fix your Website,” the meme read.
The press releases and committee schedules on the website were also altered.
“Immediate steps have been taken to address the issue,” House Secretary General Reginald Velasco said in a statement.
“We are working with the Department of Information and Communications Technology and law enforcements agencies to investigate the matter,” he added.
Velasco also warned the public against emails that purport to be from the House.
A separate statement from the DICT said it is aware of the incident and is investigating its extent. The agency said updates will be made public as soon as they are available.
