
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 9) — The Philippines logged 3,127 new COVID-19 cases from Jan. 2 to 8, 2023, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday.
In its weekly bulletin, an average of 447 daily new cases were also tallied, which is 9% lower than the number of cases from Dec. 26 to Jan.1.
On Jan. 8, DOH recorded 507 COVID-19 patients with severe and critical conditions while a total of seven deaths occurred in January.
Meanwhile, 431 intensive care unit beds were reported to be occupied.
According to the DOH, 73 million of the target population have already received vaccinations against COVID-19.
Of the targeted A2 population, 6.9 million senior citizens have received their COVID-19 doses.
