This news is music to a Disney Adult’s ears! Next year, for the first ever, The Walt Disney Company is bringing their highly-awaited fan event called D23 to Southeast Asia.
Singapore will play host to D23 Asia: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, a one-of-a-kind celebration offering consumers and fans exclusive, first access to the latest in Disney news, with panels and discussions on what’s to come for your favorite Disney Parks, shows, events, and movies. This means Filipino fans are closer than ever to living it up at this unique fan expo.
Here are 5 reasons to be excited about D23 coming to Southeast Asia:
1. D23 is the Disney Fan Event
If you’re unaware of just how big D23 is, just know that it has evolved from a simple fan official fan club into the premier global celebration of Disney storytelling and fandom. Fans from around the world make the trek to this unique experience. This immersive, multi‑day event brings fans up close to the worlds of Disney through live stage presentations, special announcements, interactive experiences, and specially curated merchandise—inviting audiences to experience the magic behind the stories they love. It’s like a Comic Con but for all things under the Disney brand.
2. First Time in Southeast Asia
D23 has previously held events in Tokyo back in the 2010s, but this is the first time they are ever coming to Southeast Asia. “Bringing D23 to Singapore reflects the incredible passion of Disney fans across Asia Pacific and our desire to meet them where they are,” said Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer of The Walt Disney Company. Jean Ng, Assistant Chief Executive, Experience Development Group, Singapore Tourism Board said, “We are excited to bring D23 to Southeast Asia for the very first time. Together with Disney, we will be creating memorable experiences that resonate with fans across the region and beyond.”
3. Get Up Close and Personal with the Stars
One major thing about D23 is that it’s the place where Disney Studios previews and presents upcoming projects, and some of the Hollywood stars of these projects are sure to make an appearance. In the 2024 edition held in Brazil, the likes of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, and actors David Harbour, Anthony Mackie, Rami Malek, and Rachel Zegler all made the trip to introduce their films. We can only dream of who will make the trip to Singapore in 2027!
4. Get the Latest Disney News
Besides the stars, D23 is also showing trailers and announcing news about all their different titles coming up. Updates will be given about projects from Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm (Star Wars), 20th Century, Disney+, Disney Animation, Pixar and more.
