Makati, Philippines – Some of the biggest names in Philippine show business gathered in Makati for Prime Video Presents: Philippines, a star-studded industry event where the streamer unveiled its lineup of upcoming global and international titles, along with an exciting list of Pinoy shows and films for the year ahead.
The likes of Marian Rivera and Sharon Cuneta introduced their Prime Original shows, both expected to make waves when they premiere on the platform. During the event, Prime Video’s Head of Content Acquisition for Southeast Asia, Chaitanya Divan, shared that what makes Filipino audiences unique is their diversity in content consumption—pointing to top titles in the country that range from global hits like The Summer I Turned Pretty to local reality shows like Last One Laughing: Philippines.
Head of APAC Programs & Strategy Caitlin Parkinson added that the streamer hopes to continue transcending borders, bringing global content to the Philippines while showcasing local stories to a wider audience. “Non-English content is one of the fastest-growing categories on Prime,” she said. Divan also noted their focus on working with top creators, popular on-screen talent, and studios that can deliver on their creative vision.
With the stage set, Prime Video Philippines unveiled a slate that spans live sports, K-dramas, and a strong lineup of local titles. Here are five things to look forward to:
1. The 2026 NBA Finals
It’s no secret that the Philippines loves basketball, which makes this a major win for fans. While the NBA and Prime Video have partnered over the past year, this marks a bigger step forward. The NBA Finals will stream live and exclusively on Prime Video this June, delivering all the intensity of the championship as it happens! For a country that lives and breathes basketball, it doesn’t get better than this.
2. New K-Dramas
K-drama fans have a lot to look forward to on Prime Video. The streamer announced three original Korean titles set to premiere soon: Final Table, a high-stakes culinary drama starring Ahn Hyo-Seop; Nine to Six, an office romance featuring Park Min Young, Yook Sung Jae, and Go Soo; and A Love Other than Yours, a swoon-worthy romance starring Seo Kangjun, Ahn Eun-Jin, Lee Joo Ahn, and Jo Aram.
3. Another Season of Last One Laughing: Philippines
One of the surprises of the night was the announcement of a new season of Last One Laughing: Philippines, the franchise reality game show hosted by Vice Ganda. The series brings comedians together to make each other laugh while trying not to laugh themselves. Showrunner Randolph Longjas teased the new season, which has already finished filming.
4. An Award-Winning List of Local Licensed Titles
Prime Video will be the home to several award-winning and critically acclaimed titles that screened in theaters over the past year. The list includes Open Endings, a 2025 Cinemalaya Film Festival awardee featuring Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Janella Salvador, the Jessica Soho-produced Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie, and Jerrold Tarog’s historical epic Quezon, starring Jericho Rosales.
5. Pinoy Prime Originals
Prime Video closed strong, announcing not one, not two, but six new local Prime Original titles—some already streaming, others on the way—with each cast taking the stage before all the stars came together for a one-of-a-kind class photo.
The six titles include:
- Honor thy Mother – a family drama that brings together Sharon Cuneta and Barbie Forteza in a highly-anticipated co-production between big-time studios GMA and ABS-CBN
- The Silent Noise – a mystery drama series starring Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo about a deaf boy and his family who face scrutiny when a dead body is discovered
- Kopino – a Korean-Pinoy romance series to be partly filmed in Korea that marks Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s third project together on Prime Video
- The Loyalty Game – a psychological thriller that will star real-life couple Janine Gutierrez and Jericho Rosales
- Love Is Never Gone – a sexy, high-octane action series shot in Morocco starring Joshua Garcia and Ivana Alawi, premiering on May 8th
- Behind Closed Doors – the return series of Marian Rivera after a two-year break from acting wherein she will play the mistress of the President of the Philippines
With its push for diverse content, a strong balance of local and global titles, and a growing roster of top Filipino talent, Prime Video Philippines is shaping up to be one of the country’s most compelling destinations for entertainment.
