Ramon Ang cited among Asia’s influential leaders

Metro Manila, Philippines – Businessman Ramon Ang was among the honorees of the Asia’s Influential Leader Awards 2026, recognizing his contribution to corporate leadership and nation building.

The recognition is conferred by the group behind the Golden Icons Awards, led by founder and chairman Ronnel Ybanez, who underscored the importance of honoring leaders driving real impact.

“We are honored to celebrate remarkable leaders and organizations whose dedication uplifts communities and inspires progress,” Ybanez said.

“We take great pride in witnessing how this humble award-giving body continues to grow in recognizing excellence and meaningful contributions to society,” he added.

Ang, who is chairman and CEO of San Miguel Corporation, was recognized alongside leaders from the government, business, and media.

Other confirmed awardees include Sherwin Gatchalian, Benjamin Abalos Jr., Agnes Devanadera, Donald Lim, Frederick DyBuncio, Kevin Tan, George Garcia, Cecilia Victoria Drilon, Henry Yap, Cecilio Paul San Pedro, and Patricia May Sy.

Ang has been seeking ways to address the fuel crisis, where he has pledged that Petron Corporation, which he also heads, will prioritize supply stability over profits.

“And I promise the public, we will not take advantage of this fuel crisis. Hindi kami kikita ng mahigit pa sa normal. And I’m willing to even lower the income,” Ang said.
