It’s shaping up to be an amazing April for film and television, with highly anticipated sequels and long-awaited stories finally hitting the screen. From a galaxy-hopping adventure to the rise of a global superstar, there’s plenty to look forward to this month. Here are some of the most thrilling releases to catch this April:
1. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Take a trip around the galaxy in this sequel to the mega-successful 2023 Super Mario movie. Joining Mario (Chris Pratt), Luigi (Charlie Day), and Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy) in this new outer space adventure are fan-favorite characters like Yoshi (Donald Glover) and Rosalina (Brie Larson). Bowser (Jack Black) returns as well, now with his son, Bowser Jr. (Benny Safdie).

2. The Boys Season 5
The fifth and final season of this bloody and brutal superhero series kicks off with Homelander (Antony Starr) more powerful than ever, while the resistant Boys are separated and jailed. As the ultimate battle looms, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his team must reunite with their super-powered allies to take down Homelander once and for all.

3. Euphoria Season 3
It’s been four years since the second season of HBO’s acclaimed teen drama, and in that time, its cast has become some of Hollywood’s most in-demand stars. Still, Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, and Jacob Elordi are back. Season 3 takes a bold turn, jumping five years ahead and moving the characters out of high school and into the equally messy world of young adulthood.

4. Beef Season 2
A new feud sparks new chaos in the second season of Beef, Netflix’s award-winning anthology series. This time around, two couples square off in a battle fueled by workplace tensions and intergenerational divides. Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Cailee Spaeny, and Charles Melton make up the feuding couples, joined by South Korean stars Youn Yuh-jung and Song Kang-ho.

5. Michael
One of music’s most iconic figures takes center stage in Michael, a biographical drama about the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. His nephew, Jaafar Jackson, steps into the role, while Oscar nominee Colman Domingo plays Michael’s father Joe Jackson. The film traces Michael’s rise, from his early days with The Jackson Five to global superstardom in the ’80s and ’90s.

Beyond Euphoria, Zendaya also stars alongside Robert Pattinson in The Drama, premiering April 4, while Rhian Ramos and Glaiza de Castro lead the queer love story I Fell, It’s Fine, also out the same day. Anne Hathaway, meanwhile, steps into full pop-star mode in Mother Mary, arriving April 22.
On the series side, The Handmaid’s Tale spin-off starring Chase Infiniti drops April 8, while the final season of Hacks premieres April 9. Millennials will also have something to look forward to, with Malcolm in the Middle returning for a new season two decades after it ended. Elsewhere, Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Nicole Kidman team up for Apple TV’s Margo’s Got Money Troubles, based on the hit novel of the same name, premiering April 15.
For big events, WWE’s flagship show WrestleMania returns for its 42nd edition, streaming live on Netflix April 19 and 20.
