Metro Manila, Philippines – A long-delayed bypass road in Mabalacat, Pampanga was opened to motorists in a bid to complete pending infrastructure nationwide, Malacanang said on Monday, March 23.
The Atlu Bola Bypass Road, delayed for about six years, is expected to ease congestion on key routes in Central Luzon, including MacArthur Highway and access points to the North Luzon Expressway.
“Ang dating kalsada na ginawang bilaran ng palay, ngayon ay malaya nang nadaraanan ng mga motorista,” Palace press officer Claire Castro said during a briefing at Villamor Air Base.
[Translation: What used to be a road turned into a palay drying area can now be freely used by motorists.]
Castro said the Department of Public Works and Highways completed the road within two months.
