Metro Manila, Philippines – Motorists can expect mixed movements in pump prices starting next week, an energy official said Friday, Feb. 20.
Rodela Romero, Assistant Director of the Department of Energy – Oil Industry Management Bureau, shared the following projected price changes:
- Gasoline – more or less a rollback of ₱0.45 per liter
- Diesel – more or less an increase of ₱0.05 per liter
- Kerosene – more or less an increase of ₱0.10 per liter
The estimated price adjustments are based on the four-day trading in the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS).
Romero cited geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran, as well as Russia and Ukraine, as factors driving higher oil prices.
“Posibleng madagdagan pa o tumaas ang trading in the coming days,” said Romero.
[Translation: Trading costs might possibly rise or increase in the coming days.]
The projected price adjustments do not yet include the operating costs and premiums of oil companies.
