Metro Manila, Philippines — Disney child star and pop singer Miley Cyrus surprised fans on Wednesday, Feb. 18, with the announcement of the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” on social media.
In a press release, Disney+ Philippines said the special will feature an in-depth interview with Cyrus, hosted by ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast host Alex Cooper.
Fans are in for a ride, as they will be “treated to never-before-seen archival footage.”
Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, described the anniversary special as a “dream” project, calling it a “love letter” to fans.
“‘Hannah Montana opened the door for so many fans to dream big, sing loud, and embrace every side of themselves, which is why its legacy continues to shine across generations,” Davis said.
The four-season sitcom, which skyrocketed Cyrus’ career at just 13 years old, premiered on March 24, 2006, on Disney Channel.
