Less than half of Filipinos ‘very happy’ with love life – SWS

Metro Manila, Philippines – Less than half of Filipinos were very happy with their love life, according to a non-commissioned survey months ahead of Valentine’s Day, a flat score year-on-year.

The November 2025 Social Weather Survey (SWS) showed that 46 percent of adult Filipinos said they were very happy with their love life, 40 percent said they could be happier, while 14 percent had no love life.

The numbers were the same in 2024, which was the lowest in over two decades since the first survey item in 2004.

The fourth-quarter survey also showed that for both women and men, those married appeared to be the happiest, followed by those with live-in partners, and those with no spouse or partner.

Of the 1,200 respondents, 13 percent were from Metro Manila, 45 percent from Balance Luzon (areas outside Metro Manila), 19 percent from the Visayas, and 23 percent from Mindanao.

The majority of respondents (33 percent) are 55 years old and above, while the rest are distributed among the youth (18-24), intermediate youth (25-34), middle-aged (35-44), and those aged 45–54.
