‘History of Sisterhood’: SexBomb Girls reunite with ex-member Izzy at ‘Rawnd 4’ concert

Metro Manila, Philippines – The sold-out three-night reunion concert of 1990s girl group SexBomb Girls delivered more than nostalgia, as fans witnessed an emotional and unexpected reunion during the “Get, Get Aw! Rawnd 4” shows at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on  Feb. 6 to 8.

The highlight was on Feb. 7 as the group performed a hit from its long-running television series, “Daisy Siete.” Mid-performance, leader Rochelle Pangilinan asked to stop the music, and caused a confused audience who suspected a technical glitch.

Then the atmosphere shifted.

The lights revealed a familiar figure on stage. Cheers erupted. Former member Izzy Trazona returned — a surprise that even group members of the SexBomb Girls were clueless. It marked Izzy’s first onstage appearance since the group began holding reunion concerts.

Rochelle later shared that the group initially feared a prop malfunction.

“Akala ko may aksidente, kaya pinapahinto kami,” she said.

In a heartfelt message to Izzy and the audience, Rochelle said she never expected the reunion to happen soon.

“Hindi ito aksidente, matagal ko nang pinagpray ito. Willing ako maghintay makasama ka lang namin, pero dininig ni God,” she said.

[Translation: “This is not an accident. I’ve been praying for this for a long time. I was willing to wait just to be with you again, but God listened.”]

Izzy was an original member and vocalist. Her absence from previous reunion concerts fueled speculation online about a possible rift with other members or had something to do with her religious belief.

Addressing the crowd, Rochelle highlighted the deeper meaning behind the reunion and the joy it brought to longtime fans.

“You supported and you loved this group. Mahal na mahal kayong lahat ni Lord. The happiness that this concert brings to everyone, yung sinasabi na nostalgia, yung sinasabi ng iba na bumalik sa pagkabata  that’s a blessing,” she said.

Rochelle then invited Izzy to join the group in singing the “Daisy Siete” theme song, an offer Izzy warmly accepted, drawing another wave of cheers from the audience.

Closing the moment, Rochelle said: “We are making history — history of sisterhood.”
