June Mar Fajardo wins 13th PBA Best Player of the Conference award

Metro Manila, Philippines – June Mar Fajardo has further cemented his legacy in the PBA after the San Miguel Beermen star captured his record-extending 13th Best Player of the Conference (BPC) award.

The 6-foot-10 from Cebu was recognized on Wednesday, Jan. 28, before Game 4 of the finals between the Beermen and TNT Tropang 5G at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

San Miguel and the Tropang 5G are tied at 2-2 in the best-of-seven championship series.

Fajardo garnered 1,246 points from stats, media, and player votes to nab the highest individual honor this All-Filipino conference.

Converge’s Juan Gomez de Liano came in second with 732 points, Calvin Abueva (622 points) of Titan Ultra, Justine Baltazar (456 points) of Converge, and Magnolia’s Zav Lucero (420 points).

This was Fajardo’s fourth straight BPC award in the Philippine Cup and 10th in the last 12 conferences.

To put into context, no one else has won more than five BPC awards since it was first given in 1994. Jayson Castro of the TNT Tropang 5G and two-time Most Valuable Player Danny Ildefonso have five each.
