Metro Manila, Philippines – Malacañang denied online rumors claiming President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had undergone or was scheduled to undergo surgery, saying the president remains in good health and continues to perform his official duties.
Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said Marcos was actively participating in meetings.
“Sa ngayon po ay masasabi nating maganda po ang kalagayan ng ating Pangulo dahil siya po ay kasalukuyang nasa meeting,” Castro said in a press briefing on Monday, Jan. 26.

She dismissed claims circulating online that Marcos had undergone or would undergo surgery related to diverticulitis.
“Wala pong ganoong balita na maibibigay po tayo dahil ngayon po, ang Pangulo ay nasa meeting. So, iyan po ay fake news,” Castro said.

Castro added that the Palace may release images or updates from the President’s meetings to show that he is in good condition, following the cancellation of several public events last week.
“Iyong pagmi-meeting po ngayon, malamang po ay mai-post ito para po mapakita natin na ang Pangulo po ay nasa maayos na kundisyon,” she said.
