Metro Manila, Philippines – Another price hike is set for diesel and kerosene days before the conclusion of 2025.
In separate announcements on Monday, Dec. 29, industry players, including Cleanfuel and Seaoil, said diesel and kerosene will both increase by P0.60 per liter starting Tuesday, Dec. 30.
Gasoline prices will remain unchanged this week.
The Department of Energy (DOE) earlier attributed the mixed movement to the global oversupply of oil and the weak demand amid the winding down of holiday travels and seasonal industrial demand.
The DOE also said the uncertainty of geopolitical tensions in Venezuela, Ukraine, and Russia was also a factor.
Oil firms implemented a big-time price rollback last week.
As of Dec. 23, the year-to-date total net increase for gasoline stood at P20.50 per liter, P20.25 per liter for diesel, and P4.95 per liter for kerosene, as of Dec. 23.
