Metro Manila, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called on Filipinos to live out the true spirit of Christmas by becoming sources of light, kindness and goodness, particularly to those most in need.
In his Christmas message, Marcos said the Filipino celebration of the holiday is marked by joy, reflection and sharing, urging the public to extend compassion and generosity beyond festive gatherings.
“I join the entire nation in celebrating this joyful and blessed day of Christmas,” the President said, as Filipinos commemorate the birth of Christ. He encouraged families to give thanks for the year’s blessings and to cherish time spent with loved ones.
Marcos noted that Christmas uniquely inspires warmth and gratitude among Filipinos, offering countless moments to appreciate life’s blessings.
However, he reminded the public that the heart of the season lies in remembering those facing hardship, including the poor, the sick, calamity victims and marginalized communities.
“As we enjoy our celebrations, let us also remember those who need our compassion and generosity the most,” Marcos said, urging Filipinos to share their abundance in the same spirit of selflessness shown by Christ.
He also called for special attention to children, saying the season should be filled with kindness, happiness and good cheer, especially for the young.
The president concluded by expressing hope that Filipinos’ deepest aspirations will be fulfilled and that love and goodwill will continue to guide families and communities in the years ahead.
