Metro Manila, Philippines – The Philippines will be sending a stacked women’s volleyball lineup mixed with youth and experience in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.
Bella Belen of Capital1 and De La Salle University standout Angel Canino are headlining the Alas Pilipinas Women roster that will compete in the biennial meet.
Joining the two are setters Jia de Guzman and Mars Alba, hitters Alyssa Solomon, Eya Laure, Vanie Gandler, Alleiah Malaluan, and Shaina Nitura, middle blockers Maddie Madayag, Amie Provido, Dell Palomata, and liberos Dawn Macandili-Catindig and Justine Jazareno.
The national squad will be under the guidance of Brazilian head coach Jorge de Brito.
The Philippines is aiming for a podium finish after placing fourth in each of the last four editions of the SEA Games.
Alas will face Thailand on Dec. 11 and Singapore on Dec. 12 in Group A, with the top two teams advancing to the next round.
