Chery Tiggo announces exit from PVL

Metro Manila, Philippines – The Cherry Tiggo EV Crossovers have reached the end of their journey in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

The EV Crossovers made the announcement on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

“With heavy hearts, we announce the closing of the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers’ chapter, after 11 unforgettable years in professional volleyball,” the team said in a statement.

Chery Tiggo is coming off a 10th place finish in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference, where it only won two games in eight outings.

“To our leagues, sponsors, staff and most especially to our players, past and present, thank you for your dedication and heart,” the team said. “To our incredible fans: you have been the soul of this team.”

The EV Crossovers started out as Foton in the now-defunct Philippine Superliga back in 2014 before joining the PVL in 2020.

Cherry Tiggo made PVL history after stunning powerhouse Creamline Cool Smashers in the championship game to capture the league’s first pro title in the 2021 Open Conference “bubble” in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

With this development, all EV Crossovers players are available for the other PVL teams. This includes Ara Galang, Aby Maraño, Mylene Paat, Jen Nierva, Cess Robles, Pauline Gaston, Imee Hernandez, Shaya Adorador, Jasmine Nabor, Alina Bicar, Cza Carandang, Joyme Cagande, Anngela Nunag, Karen Verdeflor, Seth Rodriguez, Rhose Dapol, and rookies Ren Peñafiel, Jyne Soreño, Erika Deloria, and Reyann Cañete.
