Metro Manila, Philippines – Nearly two decades after the original film turned into a pop culture touchstone, Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway are back together in the first teaser for “The Devil Wears Prada 2.”
Released Thursday, Nov. 13, the preview opens with Streep’s Miranda Priestly confidently walking through the sleek offices of ‘Runway’ magazine in her trademark red heels. Just as she steps into the elevator, she’s joined by Hathaway’s Andy Sachs, her once-overwhelmed assistant turned fashion insider.
“Took you long enough,” Miranda said, as Andy smirks behind dark sunglasses.
The teaser, set to Madonna’s 1990 hit “Vogue,” playfully references the real-world inspiration for the story — ‘Vogue’ magazine — and its legendary editor Anna Wintour, who reportedly inspired Streep’s character.
The sequel, from 20th Century Studios, is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026. Returning alongside Streep and Hathaway are Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, with Kenneth Branagh joining the cast. Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman will also reprise their roles.
Based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel, the 2006 film followed Sachs as she landed a job under Priestly, the demanding editor-in-chief of a top New York fashion magazine. Weisberger, a former assistant to Wintour, drew heavily from her real-life experiences at Vogue.
