Metro Manila, Philippines – Tropical Storm Ramil (International name: Fengshen) made landfall over Gubat, Sorsogon on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 18, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
In its 5 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said “Ramil” may cross landmass or the coastal waters of Bicol region until early Sunday morning and approach Polillo Islands.
The storm is seen to make another landfall in Aurora on Sunday.
“The possibility of landfall over northern Quezon or southern Isabela instead of Aurora is also not ruled out based on the forecast confidence cone,” PAGASA said.
Government meteorologists earlier warned that “Ramil” will first hit Catanduanes, where authorities also made preparations for possible impact this weekend.
