3 reported dead due to ‘Crising,’ habagat – NDRRMC

Metro Manila, Philippines – Three people were reported dead due to the combined effects of Severe Tropical Storm Crising (international name: Wipha) and the southwest monsoon, government data showed on Sunday, July 20.

Based on the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) report, two of the fatalities were from Northern Mindanao while the other one was from Davao Region.Three individuals from Soccsksargen, meanwhile, were reported hurt by the weather disturbances. Another three from Western Visayas remain missing.“Crising” and the southwest monsoon has affected 120,008 families or 370,289 individuals, the NDRRMC figures stated. Of which, around 6,000 households are in evacuation centers.Central Luzon has the most affected population at 40,033 families.Around 400 houses were reported damaged across the country.Infrastructure damage was estimated at P11.5 million.
