Metro Manila, Philippines – Christine Juliane “CJ” Opiaza will be crowned Miss Grand International (MGI) queen – the first for the Philippines – after India’s Rachel Gupta lost the 2024 title.
The pageant organizers on Friday, May 30, announced that Opiaza’s crowning ceremony will take place at the MGI Hall at Bravo BKK in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 3,
“Time tells all. The CROWN has found its QUEEN,” the MGI organization posted on social media.
The ceremony will be streamed live via the GrandTV YouTube channel.
Opiaza also confirmed her new title and introduced herself as Miss Grand International 2024 in a post on Instagram.

Opiaza won 1st runner-up in Bangkok, Thailand in October.
Just this week, the MGI announced the termination of Gupta’s title citing “failure to fulfill duties,” among other reasons.
Meanwhile, Gupta claimed that she decided to “step down” from her duties due to “mistreatment” and “broken promises.”
Before Opiaza, two other Filipino queens came close to bringing home the crown. Nicole Cordoves and Samantha Bernardo both finished first runners-up in 2016 and 2020, respectively.
