
Davao City, Philippines – Vice President Sara Duterte said on Monday, May 12, she is discussing with lawyers of former President Rodrigo Duterte about possible scenarios should he win Davao City’s mayoral polls.
“Pinag-uusapan namin ng kanyang ICC lawyer at ng kanyang Philippine lawyer kung paano siya maka-oath as a winner ng mayoral contest sa Davao City,” she said in a chance interview after voting in Davao City.

The former president has been detained at the facility of the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands to face charges of crimes against humanity for murder in relation to his bloody war on drugs.
The vice president also dismissed legal repercussions should her father win, saying the vice mayor can fulfill his duties in his absence.
Duterte is running against his former Cabinet secretary Karlo Nograles. The former president’s son, Davao Mayor Baste Duterte, is running for vice mayor.
The Commission on Elections earlier said Duterte can still be proclaimed winner pending resolution of his case.
Meanwhile, Duterte said the former president failed to avail of overseas absentee voting.
