Metro Manila, Philippines — A local court on Tuesday, Feb. 4, dismissed all cases against actress and businesswoman Neri Naig-Miranda.
According to a release posted by Neri’s husband, Chito Miranda, Naig’s legal counsel said Branch 112 of the Regional Trial Court in Pasay City ordered the dismissal of the complaint as there was “no probable cause to indict” the actress.
“Mabuti na lang talaga na alam ni Lord ang buong katotohanan kaya never [Niya] pinabayaan si Neri,” the Parokya ni Edgar lead vocal said in his post.
[Translation: It’s good that the Lord knows the whole truth so [He] never abandoned Neri.]
“We are so thankful that she was eventually given the chance to defend herself and her side of the story,” he added.
In December 2024, Naig faced 14 counts for violating the Securities Regulation Code as authorities alleged that she endorsed skincare clinic Dermacare and encouraged people to invest.
Dermacare supposedly lacked authorization to solicit public funds, as it was not registered or licensed to sell stocks.
