Davao, Manila, Caloocan cities listed traffic index

Metro Manila, Philippines – The cities of Davao, Manila, and Caloocan were included in a 2024 global index of traffic congestion in 500 cities.

Davao City ranked eighth worldwide and topped the Philippine traffic list in the TomTom Traffic Index. It had an average travel time of 32 minutes and 59 seconds per 10 kilometers. The rate was 30 seconds faster than in 2023.

A total of 136 hours have been lost per year at rush hours in Davao City, the index said.

With a 49 percent congestion level, Davao was third in the congestion world rank.

Traffic in Manila, ranked 14th, also eased by 30 seconds to an average of 32 minutes and 10 seconds travel time per 10 kilometers. Hours lost per year at rush hours was 127.

Manila ranked 27th in congestion with 42 percent.

Caloocan had an average travel time of 30 minutes and 44 seconds per 10 kilometers, ranking 26th across the globe. The travel time was 20 seconds shorter compared to 2023. Caloocan lost 111 hours per year at rush hours.

It has a 41 percent level, ranked 39th when it comes to congestion.

Barranquilla in Colombia ranked first in the index, followed by Kolkata and Bengaluru in India.
