Metro Manila, Philippines – Commuters may avail of free rides during select hours at the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) on Rizal Day, Dec. 30.
In commemoration of national hero Jose Rizal’s death anniversary, the MRT-3 and LRT-2 will offer free rides from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“Nawa’y magsilbing inspirasyon sa ating lahat ang kanyang kabayanihan,” the Light Rail Transit Authority LRT-2 said in a social media post.
[Translation: May his heroism serve as an inspiration to all of us.]
This year is the 128th anniversary of Rizal’s martyrdom.
