Monsoon rains to persist in Luzon, Visayas

Metro Manila, Philippines – Luzon and the Visayas will continue to have rains brought by the southwest monsoon on Friday, July 26, the state weather bureau said.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (PAGASA) forecast, rains are expected over Ilocos Region, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands.

Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, and Benguet will have occasional rains.

The southwest monsoon will also bring overcast skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila.

For the Visayas, there will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms may be experienced, PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms will happen over Mindanao.

The weather bureau warned of flash floods or landslides in areas with heavy rain.

It is also monitoring a low pressure area, which was spotted 1,035 kilometers east of south eastern Mindanao at 3 a.m. -Daniza Fernandez
