“We have had some discussions before he took his oath to give ourselves a good idea of what we think needs to be done,” Marcos said after the oath taking ceremony at the Malacañan Palace. “I know Sonny knows what is important and I know that he knows how to get these things done. And so I’m very, very optimistic for DepEd (Department of Education).”
Angara, now a former senator, said he looks forward to “working closely” with the president to “pursue immediate reforms in our education system.”
Vice President Sara Duterte formally turned over the DepEd leadership on Thursday. Her resignation took effect on Friday.
