Marcos trust rating declines

Metro Manila, Philippines – The Filipino people’s trust in President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declined in a recent non-commissioned survey released on Wednesday, July 17.

According to private pollster Pulse Asia, Marcos’ trust score was 52 percent in June, down by five points from the previous survey in March.

The president has the highest trust rating in Metro Manila at 59 percent and the lowest in Mindanao at 35 percent. He gained the most trust from the Class D.

Meanwhile, the trust rating of Vice President Sara Duterte remained at 71 percent.

Pulse Asia said Marcos and Duterte enjoy “small to big majority trust ratings.”

House Speaker Martin Romualdez’s trust rating rose from 31 percent to 35 percent, while new Senate President Francis Escudero gained a 69-percent trust rating.

Marcos’ distrust score rose by six points from 15 percent to 21 percent. Romualdez’ numbers went down by a point from 24 percent.

Duterte’s distrust rating stayed at 8 percent.

Pulse Asia conducted the survey among 2,400 adults from June 17 to 24. It has a 95-percent confidence level and a margin error of ±2 percent.
