Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 9) — TV host Robi Domingo on Tuesday revealed that his grandmother passed away on the same day as his wedding to his partner Maiqui Pineda.
He said his family kept the heartbreaking news from him until the festivities were done at their wedding reception.
“Bittersweet… As I was about to leave the place, my mom was sobbing as she tried to tell me that my Lola passed away that same morning. Apparently, my family didn’t tell us so that our focus was our magical day,” he said in a post on Instagram.
He also shared his fond memories with his grandmother, whom he called “Ina,” from his childhood.
Domingo and Pineda exchanged vows in a Filipino-themed church ceremony held at San Isidro Labrador Parish in Pulilan, Bulacan on Jan. 6.
