Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 7) — Kim Kianna Dy (KKD) remains inseparable from fellow F2 aces Majoy Baron and Kim Fajardo as the PLDT High Speed Hitters unveiled the star opposite spiker as its latest recruit, completing the decorated troika for the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season.
The three spikers’ big move came after the disbandment of the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers after nearly a decade in the Philippine volleyball scene.
“Stepping out of your comfort zone can get scary sometimes. But at the same time, that’s when you realize that you can learn so much more from new coaches and teammates,” Dy said in a post.
“It’s going to take a lot of hard work but I hope we can give what’s expected of us here in PLDT,” she added.
PLDT teased Dy, Baron, and Fajardo’s transfer to the team after letting go of Mich Morente, Mean Mendrez, and Anj Legacion, who have yet to announce their new PVL teams.
The high-profile addition of the De La Salle Lady Spikers trio to the PLDT squad sets up their reunion with Mika Reyes – also an ex-Cargo Mover and a part of the green-and-white UAAP Season 78 championship team.
Dy, Baron, and Fajardo were among the Cargo Movers’ pioneers back in 2016, keeping their Taft trio intact since their title-laden collegiate years.
