Taguig City opens satellite pharmacy for EMBO barangays

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 6) — Taguig City opened on Friday a satellite pharmacy for the residents of the Enlisted Men’s Barrio (EMBO) barangays that are now under its jurisdiction.

This was after Makati City, which used to have administrative authority over these barangays, earlier shutdown the health centers in these areas following the Supreme Court ruling.

In a social media post, the Taguig City government said that the pharmacy is located at the second floor of the Genesis Building, 19th Avenue, J.P. Rizal Extension, East Rembo.

The local government said residents could get free medicines that were prescribed through telemedicine consultation from the pharmacy.

It added that free maintenance medicines are also available if prescribed in the past three months.

The satellite pharmacy is open from Monday to Friday at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Makati City earlier said that the residents of the 10 EMBO barangays are no longer eligible for its subsidized healthcare program.
