Fire guts storage facility in Valenzuela City

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 7) — After nearly 12 hours, the fire that gutted a storage facility in Canumay East, Valenzuela City was put out on Sunday morning.

According to the Bureau of Fire and Protection’s (BFP) latest report, the blaze hit the first alarm at 9:41 p.m. on Saturday and escalated to the fourth alarm at 10:22 p.m.

The fire was declared under control at 1:37 a.m. on Sunday and was finally put out at 8:51 a.m.

Furniture, merchandise, and carton boxes from at least four companies that were kept at the building were reduced to ashes.

There were no casualties reported. However, the local government said 33 families, or 114 individuals, were displaced as of 6 a.m.

A total of 18 fire engines have responded to the scene.
