Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 22) — Airport authorities have found leads in an ongoing investigation involving a taxi driver who charged his Taiwanese passengers ₱10,000 each for a ride from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 to Terminal 4.
Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Officer-in-Charge Bryan Co said they have “persons of interest” identified via airport monitoring cameras.
“May persons of interest na tayo as reported by our security unit kasi we do have CCTVs available so may mga nakita na tayo doon,” he said.
[Translation: We already have persons of interest as reported by our security unit because we do have CCTVs available so we have seen some people there.]
A video of the incident earlier in the week went viral but missed the plate number and body number of the vehicle.
Co said they are intensifying their efforts to remind passengers – especially foreigners – to transact only with accredited transport providers to avoid being victimized.
